about

After first hearing this, I kind of jokingly suggested the title "Fried Rosin" to Dave, due to the nature of the music, not at all typical for a hurdy-gurdy album, and that in sessions he also seemed to get through copious amounts of rosin (that's the rose wood sap blocks used on strings that aids resonation - if you know what I mean), and as if he'd fried the sound with electronics too - a double meaning! An unusual and fascinating album of vignettes and sound pictures.
